Posted on August 23rd, 2022 in Resources by Compton

First impressions are everything when it comes to selling your house and making sure the following areas are in order will be make all the difference in the outcome of your sale.

Walls and paint
A fresh lick of paint will give your house an instant facelift and will transform it from looking tired and weathered to fresh and inviting. Now is the time to also patch up any cracks and holes in your walls. Remember that the imperfections we get used to living with always stand out to a fresh set of eyes.

Flooring
Given the high traffic nature of flooring, it doesn’t take long for it to look tired due to wear and tear. Thoroughly check your floors and decide if your tiles need updating or regrouting and if your floorboards could benefit from a re-sand and polish. Do your carpets need replacing or will a steam clean be enough to spruce them up? Attention to this area will definitely pay off.

Garden and outdoor furnishings
No matter how beautiful your home, if your garden is overgrown and unruly, it may be enough to deter people from inspecting your property. Neat, green lawn and well-maintained healthy plants will draw  people to your property. A good front yard should complement your home.

And don't underestimate the power of outdoor furnishings. Styling is everything and a simple outdoor bench, some new pots and welcome mat can be the finishing touches that add the wow factor to your property.
